Help a child attend dance classes for free
Dear friends,
Nuru Kids Dance Troupe is a mixed genre performance team that specializes in electric African dance. There are 13 young boys and girls currently enrolled in the program. They meet bi-weekly at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, MI where they learn new techniques and choreography. They perform at private events such as weddings, parties, and corporate events. They also perform at cultural events such as the African Festival, the Ballet Festival, and the Cultural Heritage Festival. The group is comprised of kids from different backgrounds with a shared love for African dance.
When we first started the Dance Troupe in 2019, we set out to come alongside parents who could not afford dance lessons for their children. Our goal is to keep dance classes free - but we also want the program to thrive, that's why we rely on the support of benevolent people like you to keep this program running.
This semester, they are hard at work preparing for the Les Clay Annual Benefit Concert and they need new performance costumes and practice gear. We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community to partner with us and sponsor a child for the fall semester.
A partnership level of $100 will help 1 child attend a semester of dance classes and will provide a t-shirt to perform in. A sponsorship of $200 includes the above, as well as a performance costume. A sponsorship of $300 provides all the above plus transportation to and from practice.
